The spiritual goal in traditional medicine is the foundation from which holistic approaches to healing take shape. This goal is mainly focused on achieving a balance between mind, body, and spirit, as well as finding one's true spiritual self. This can be achieved through various spiritual practices, including Prayer, Meditation, Yoga, Pilates, and Reiki. When it comes to traditional medicine's spiritual goal, its approach is two-fold. First, traditional medicine advocates a holistic approach to health which includes the physical, mental and spiritual aspects. Second, traditional medicine recommends a set of spiritual practices that can be integrated into the individual’s life to promote a sense of wellbeing, inner peace, and connection with the divine. This can include meditative practices such as mindfulness and yoga, spiritual exercises like prayer or chanting, and traditional wellness practices such as ayurvedic or herbal remedies. The spiritual goal within traditional medicine is intended to promote spiritual healing and development, while at the same time restoring balance and wholeness to the individual. The goal is to utilize the power of the body, mind, and spirit together, which is why traditional medicine combines physical treatments (specific to a condition or illness) with spiritual practices. This holistic approach of healing is also referred to as energy medicine, since it looks to balance the physical body by also restoring the energy pathways within. The spiritual goal in traditional medicine is to help the individual attain an inner sense of peace and harmony, which can also facilitate physical healing. As a result, belief in the healing power of the spirit is a major component of traditional medicine, and activities such as prayer, meditation, yoga, and other spiritual practices can greatly benefit an individual's overall well-being. Ultimately, the spiritual goal in traditional medicine is to promote self-discovery and the attainment of a spiritual connection that transcends the limitations of the physical body.
