Title : Healing powers of music therapy and meditation
Abstract:
Background: Music therapy and meditation have individually been recognized for their therapeutic benefits, enhancing emotional regulation, reducing stress, and promoting overall well-being. This abstract explores the synergistic effects of combining music therapy with meditation.
Objective: To examine the efficacy of music therapy-mediated meditation interventions in promoting relaxation, reducing anxiety and depression, and enhancing cognitive function.
Methodology: A mixed-methods approach combining quantitative and qualitative data. Participants will engage in 30-minute music therapy sessions, incorporating guided meditation and live music improvisation. Measures include diagnosis with Medical Astrology concepts and Planetary Mantras
- State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI)
- Beck Depression Inventory (BDI)
- Cognitive Function Assessment (CFA)
- Semi-structured interviews
Results: Preliminary findings indicate:
- Improved cognitive function, particularly in attention and memory (p<0.01)
- Qualitative themes: enhanced relaxation, emotional regulation, and self-awareness
Conclusion: Music therapy-mediated meditation interventions demonstrate promise in promoting relaxation, reducing anxiety and depression, and enhancing cognitive function. These findings support the integration of music therapy and meditation in clinical and wellness settings.
