Biography:
Lea Cheung is a registered music therapist in Australia, a guzheng artist. Driven by a desire to integrate Chinese music into therapeutic applications, she presented at the 2024 International Conference on Improvisation in Music Therapy in Belgium, she showcased her approach of using the pentatonic scale to support youth with traumatic experiences, Lea has also collaborated with Dr. Oliver O’Reilly, to discuss the use of Chinese music for improvisation in Western music during the Australian Music Therapy Conference. Committed to community service, she leads the Maggie Cancer Care Center Choir, conducting and performing on the guzheng.
