Biography:
He graduated from Tokyo University of Education in 1969.
In 1986, he was initiated as a Raja Yoga Acharya by Swami Yogeshwarananda Maharaj, founder of the Yoga Niketan ashram in Rishikesh, India.
In 2003, Kimura founded the Japan Yoga Therapy Society and is the Society’s president. In 2019, he was invited by the World Health Organization’s Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine program as one of 20 international experts to attend the WHO Working Group Meeting on Benchmarks for Training in Yoga.
In June 2019, Kimura was awarded the first Indian Prime Minister’s Award for Outstanding Contribution for Promotion and Development of Yoga
